This bright barrel cactus painting was inspired by a unforgettable family week in Scottsdale, AZ.  This past July we spent a fun week with Todd's family.  We rented a beautiful large home and fifteen of us gathered under one roof cooking together, laughing until our sides hurt, playing games late into the night, and enjoying a few cocktails by the pool. 
 
The bright colors and pink background capture the joy, sunshine, and playful spirit of that trip.  Every time I look at it, I’m reminded of the beauty of the desert and the magic of being surrounded by family.

The Prickly Pear Margarita
 
2 oz tequila
1 oz prickly pear syrup
1 oz lime juice
Shake with ice, pour over salt-rimmed glass, and garnish with a lime
